Amy Pritchard bio:
Amy Pritchard is a political consultant and social entrepreneur. She specializes in campaign strategy and voter contact for electoral candidates, parties, advocacy campaigns and nonprofit organizations in the United States and globally for political parties, civil society, and socially responsible businesses. She has been a leader in the Democratic and Progressive movement in the US for over 30 years - and worked internationally on democracy and governance for more than 20. A native of Massachusetts, Amy lives in Cambridge but keeps home and offices based in Washington, DC and Kigali, Rwanda.
Through AP Campaigns she is a strategic partner with Deliver Strategies a voter contact firm where she works for an amazing assortment of progressive candidates and issue based campaigns across the US. Deliver focuses on print materials, and producing creative direct mail. AP Campaigns is also a strategic partner with Digital Turf a boutique Democratic consulting agency that develops websites, designs and executes digital advertising, social media, and organizing campaigns for Democratic candidates and Progressive Campaigns. Digital Turf also designs and produces print materials and mail.
She is the founder of GAIN POWER and new community platform for people who work in Democratic and Progressive Politics. GAIN POWER is the new iterations of Democratic GAIN – an association formed in 2003 to supports Democratic and Progressive Political Professionals. Individuals and organizations use “GAIN” for training, professional development, and employment opportunities, and networking.
One of the United States leading experts on initiatives and referenda, Pritchard is a founder of the Ballot Initiative Strategy Center, an organization that provides strategic guidance to progressive ballot measures. From 1997-1998 Pritchard served as the Midwest and Northeast Political Director at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. In 2003-4 she took a leave from consulting to serve full time as National Political Director of the Democratic National Committee.
For 10 years she was a senior strategist for Mission Control, a political direct mail firm working with Democratic candidates, party committees, ballot measure campaigns, labor unions and non-profit organizations and for 7 years before that she was a partner with Anil Mammen in another direct mail / voter contact firm. Her services focus on print communications, direct mail, marketing, digital organizing, skills training, strategic planning, capacity building, and program management - focused on elections, advocacy, and governance. She recently she served as the Voter Contact Director for For Our Future, an Independent Expenditure campaign for the Presidential Campaign and Senate races in seven states. For Our Future spent over 55 million dollars on field and voter contact working directly with 180 national and local issue based non-profit organizations (NGOs) in Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania, Nevada, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Missouri.
Internationally she has worked as staff, consultant, and trainer for the National Democratic Institute, Women’s Campaign International, Democracy International, and the McCain Institute in Morocco, Kosovo, Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Rwanda, Congo, Jordan, Burma, Indonesia, Venezuela, Nepal, the Gambia, the Netherlands, and Kenya. Pritchard’s trainings focus on leadership development, voter contact, electoral organizing and field, message development, communications, social media, polling, research, and more.
Currently, Amy is working to launch new initiatives. The first is a non-profit NGO called Global GAIN. She formed it to network US women working in Domestic politics and international development, to engage with global advocacy activists and to support their projects focusing on women's leadership and girls education programs. The second mentioned above is called GAIN POWER and will launch in early 2020 to support Democratic Campaigns, Progressive causes, and the professions that work for them.
